Rediscovering Tracey Porter

I have to admit that I might be the last person on the block to discover that Tracey Porter, bohemian interior designer extrordinaire, now offers both clothing and jewelry. So that’s why they call it the Golden Globes!

Ok- I can’t resist making a comment about the attire at the Golden Globe awards last night. I admit to being somewhat of an awards ceremony addict (any night I can curl up on the couch with a Bloomacious Belini is a night to look forward to). This year the fashion was a bit strange for me-it was as if the AFPA issued a memo saying “We suggest you wear a strapless, belted frock-but if that doesn’t suit you, wear something devoid of color.” Yuck!

There were of course a few notable exceptions. For me, Drew Barrymore was the belle of the ball (despite Christina Applegate’s nod to Beauty and the Beast, with her butter yellow frock). I think that Drew should be awarded the Most Improved Overall Look award-given last years appearance. While I loved the green color she wore in 2007 (2008 awards were cancelled due to the writer's strike), the fit was atrocious-and I am glad she has returned to the land of the blonde!

I’m pretty sure at this point that I was born in the wrong decade given my fascination with vintage design. I have blogged almost non-stop at IndDecor about my love for vintage looking accessories and shoes. These pieces are my current favorites. The Greta at Love Lu Lu Mae is a fabulous looking headband featuring pheasant feathers and a vintage brooch accent. The other piece, from House of Telsa on Etsy uses my current favorite color combo: silver and yellow.
